During Stage 6 your swimmers will focus on developing effective swimming skills including co-ordinated breathing, water safety and an understanding of how to prepare for exercise.
Outcome 1 - Demonstrate an understanding of preparation for exercise
Outcome 2 - Sink, push off on side from the wall, glide, kick and rotate into backstroke
Outcome 3 - Sink, push off on side from the wall, glide, kick and rotate into front crawl
Outcome 4 - Swim 10 metres wearing clothes
Outcome 5 - Swim front crawl to include at least six rhythmical breaths to the ASA expected stroke standard
Outcome 6 - Swim breaststroke to include at least six rhythmical breaths to the ASA expected stroke standards box >>
Outcome 7 - Swim butterfly to include at least three rhythmical breaths o the ASA expected stroke standards
Outcome 8 - Swim 25 metres, choice of stroke • is optional to the ASA expected stroke standard
Outcome 9 - Perform a ‘shout and signal’ rescue
Outcome 10 - Perform a surface dive
Outcome 11 - Exit the water without using steps
